Like all providers of financial and tax services, we are required by law to inform our clients of our policies regarding the privacy of client information. We are also extending this policy to potential clients, employees, subsidiaries, vendors, partners, and affiliates. We at Taxperts, LLC highly value your trust and confidence in us, and we want to assure you that your personal/company information is kept confidential by us. As expert professional consultants/practitioners, we adhere to the highest level of professional ethical responsibility and obligations to protect the confidentiality of client information. This Privacy Policy summarizes how we protect your personal information. Personal information includes information we receive from you when you meet with us in person or over the phone, when you send us information by mail or e-mail, through our website, on tax preparation worksheets, and on other documents or forms that we use in preparing your tax return or in providing other services for you. This notice applies to former clients as well as current clients. During the continuation of your relationship with Taxperts, LLC, we will advise you of our privacy policy and practices at least once annually, as required by law.

Confidential File Information and Technology Policy
The nature of our business requires that we utilize confidential information such as company financial statements, records, various tax returns, and internal privileged documents and information. Much of this information is in digital format accessible via computer. Our policy to protect our clients with regard to computer and paper document usage and the care of this information is as such:
- Only employees and principals specifically assigned to your case will have access to your information.
- All files and information will be secured with a strong password.
- Our firm only uses flash drives with built in passwords and anti-viral software.
- When performing services away from our home office, all forms of media including disks, cds, and flash drives will be physically secured in a hotel safe when the employee is not working.
- No employee or principal is to leave hardware or files lying around and must keep such items in their possession at all times.
- All employees must lock their computers before leaving their work areas while at the home office.
- All paper information will be stored in filing cabinets under lock and key with access given only to the employees/principals assigned to the case.
- Any paper documents no longer needed or that have been digitally stored will be confetti shredded immediately.
- All client files with sensitive data that are not in a locked office, are on portable media, not on the secured network drive, or are on portable flash or hard drives will be physically placed in the company safe nightly until it is needed the next day. Only select principals have access to the safe.
- It is our policy to follow these items even if the clients’ information is public record or will be posted publicly with the SEC, FERC, Utility Commissions, etc. While the information resides with Taxperts, LLC it is considered confidential.
- There is a zero tolerance for not adhering to this policy. Any employee and any Principal faces reprimand, discharge, civil action, and possible criminal prosecution for violating our clients’ trust.
Confidentiality and Security
As a tax practitioner, Taxperts, LLC is prohibited by the Internal Revenue Code and professional ethics from disclosing tax return information without our clients’ consent. We have, therefore, always maintained the confidentiality and security of client personal information. We follow standard industry practices to actively protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of your personal information. We also maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to guard your personal information from unauthorized access and anticipated threats or hazards. Access to your information by employees is restricted to those individuals having a business need for such information. Additionally, our employees are bound by internal confidentiality policies.
Information We May Disclose
Taxperts, LLC regards your personal information as confidential. In the course of providing tax return preparation, tax and financial planning, tax and other compliance engagements for you, we will disclose information to other parties only with your consent, when deemed necessary to provide information in connection with legal proceedings, or as obligated/permitted by law. The law permits disclosure in certain other instances; such as if we must share information to protect against fraud, in response to a court subpoena, and to others who are assuring our compliance with professional accounting standards (peer review).
